9 Trendy Houseplants You Need In Your Life

#5 is on my list of top favorite houseplants!

Spider Plant

While I don’t love the name, the spider plant is another relatively low-maintenance plant that you can either hang and let grow like crazy, or keep in a small pot and trim up regularly. They don’t like direct sunlight, so they are perfect for adding some color to a dark corner of your house! You’ll need to keep this plant pretty well watered, usually 2 times a week.

Rubber Tree

It’s best to start off with a young rubber tree plant if you’re planning on keeping it indoors. Rubber trees don’t do well with transitioning from outdoor to indoor. These trees can grow quite large – up to 50 feet tall! But, if they start out indoors they will adapt better to their surroundings and stay between 3-6 feet tall with proper pruning. The rubber tree plant likes indirect sunlight and plenty of water. You can also keep the leaves nice and clean by wiping them down with coconut oil!

Aloe Plant

These succulents are so fun and are perfect for sprucing up a side table, a bookshelf, or any little space around the house. They like indirect sunlight, so west facing windows are best for your little aloe plant. Aloe plants do like a good watering, but only every three weeks or so. Make sure to let the top 1-2 inches of soil dry out before watering it again. This plant is prone to root rot, so make sure to place it in a pot with good drainage.
