8 Cool Ways to Repurpose a Wine Bottle for Your Garden
Incorporate Wine Bottles Into Your Outdoor Landscape With These Ideas
Bird Feeders
Remove the bottoms of wine bottles before attaching a rounded platform that leaves a small space for bird seed distribution. Pour bird seed into the top of the wine bottle, place the cork, and then hang from your tree or porch to watch the birds come and get it.
Planters
Use whole wine bottles to start plants in a pot. You can always place cut flowers in bottles as a vase for a few stems too!
Drip Irrigators
Drill a 1/4-inch hole into the cork of the wine bottle, fill it with water and turn it upside-down into soil as a slow-drip irrigation system. This works really well on hot summer days or for those of us who may not be great at remembering to water!
Path Edges
Bury wine bottles with the bottoms up and exposed at soil level so you can see your garden path sparkling in the sun. Light reflects off of the bottles as a fun lighting effect during the day, or you can create a sparkly effect at night with track lighting, tiki torches or outdoor candles.
